Terms of use

Last updated 15 October 2026

The short version

  • Your data is yours. We only store it, encrypted, if you turn on sync.
  • Keep your recovery words safe. We cannot recover your account or data without them.
  • Tiver is free today. If we add paid features, we will tell you first and never charge you without your agreement.
  • Use Tiver lawfully and don't abuse the sync service.

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Ali Fadhel, an individual based in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"), and apply to the Tiver Android app, the web app at app.tiver.ca and the optional sync service (together, "Tiver"). By using Tiver you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

2. Who can use Tiver

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tiver. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.

3. What Tiver provides

Tiver is a personal planner for tasks, habits, notes, time blocks and related tools. It works on your device without an account. The optional sync service keeps your devices up to date with each other using end-to-end encryption.

Tiver is free today. We may offer paid features or plans in the future. If we do, we will describe them and their price clearly before you buy, any purchase will be on terms you accept at that time, and features you already use for free will not start charging you without your agreement.

4. Your content

Everything you create in Tiver belongs to you. If you use sync, you give us permission to store and transmit your encrypted data only as needed to run the sync service for you. We cannot read it, and we claim no other rights to it.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to store it.

5. Your account and recovery words

When you create a sync account, Tiver gives you recovery words. They are the only way to regain your account if you lose all your devices. We never receive them and cannot reset them. Keep them private and safe. You are responsible for activity from devices and passkeys you add to your account.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Tiver to break the law or to harm others. In particular, don't:

The sync service has storage limits, including a size limit for each attachment. Anything over a limit stays on your device and is not synced.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Tiver reliable, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, improve or remove features. If we ever decide to shut down the sync service, we will give you at least 60 days' notice in the app so you can keep your data, which always stays on your devices and can be exported.

8. Our rights

Tiver, its design, its name and its logo belong to us. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Tiver; they don't give you any rights to our name or logo. Open-source components in Tiver are covered by their own licences, which take priority for those components.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.

9. Third-party services

Google Play, your browser, your password manager and your device's operating system are provided by others under their own terms. We are not responsible for them.

10. Disclaimer

Tiver helps you plan, but you remain responsible for your own schedule, health, faith practice and decisions. Reminders and alarms can fail to fire because of device settings, battery saving or other causes outside our control, so don't rely on Tiver alone for anything critical. To the extent the law allows, Tiver is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of Tiver. Our total liability to you for any claim about Tiver is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Tiver in the 12 months before the claim and 100 Canadian dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract, including under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

12. Ending use

You can stop using Tiver at any time, and you can delete your sync account from the app. We may suspend or close a sync account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you time to keep your data, which remains on your devices.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be decided by the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top, and for material changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Tiver after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using Tiver and delete your sync account.
